The Schweizer Musikinsel Rheinau Foundation was founded to facilitate the operation of the MUSIKINSEL in the buildings of the former Rheinau Monastery. It was capitalized with 20 million Swiss francs to cover the startup costs, furnishing and anticipated operating deficit.
The Foundation is politically and denominationally neutral and also does not pursue any musical preferences. The MUSIKINSEL is open for musicians from all categories and styles.
The Foundation Board consists of Christoph Blocher (Chairman), Rahel Blocher und Walter Eberle. The trustees are not compensated for their respective mandates. The Foundation is a recognized non-profit organization and therefore not subject to taxes.
