Rheinau is situated on the border to Germany, between Winterthur and Schaffhausen and 30 km from the Zurich Airport.

Due to both its extraordinary location and to its numerous historical sights, Rheinau is a popular place to visit, especially during summer. In the upper town, one can discover a Celtic rampart, which is a remnant of the old town’s surrounding wall, the village church ("Bergkirche") and the historical building "Gesellschaftshaus zur Stube”.
